Worship Services

Sunday 10:00am & Thursday 11:45am

Our Service on Sunday is the main time we gather in the week; Thursdays is a smaller, mid-week Service. We offer a blend of Traditional and Contemporary Service forms and music. Our primary aim in meeting together as a Parish Family is to hear God speak of Jesus Christ and to worship Him in the manner He commanded. We regularly join together in receiving the Holy Communion.

Since God’s Word establishes us in the faith we will always offer a sermon which teaches and relevantly applies a passage from the Bible. Anglican Services are ‘liturgical’ – set forms of prayer which gather the music, readings, sermon and sacraments together in an ordered manner.

Traditional Services are from the “Book of Common Prayer”; contemporary Services are from a variety of sources, primarily “An English Prayer Book”. We have children’s time each week to engage our little ones in the message. Sunday school is available for children after the children’s time.

Services are held in the Main Hall of Nanoose Place Community Centre. Easily accessible parking is available. Enter the main doors and look for our Greeters who have Name Tags and a weekly Bulletin; they will be happy to direct you to your seats. ESV Bibles are provided for common participation in the Service.

Sunday Worship typically lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes, from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. A time of hospitality and refreshment follows. This is a wonderful time to connect with those around you and build deeper long lasting relationships. Thursday is always a Communion Service, lasting for 45 minutes.

Parish Luncheons:

The 4th Sunday of every month is our Parish Luncheon where Parishioners bring finger foods to share with one another. All are welcome to join us!!

We have a fully-staffed Sunday school for children.

Music Ministry

“Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord!” – Psalm 150:6

It is the desire of the music and worship team, under the leadership of our music director, to lead the congregation in praise and worship to the Lord. We combine both traditional and contemporary music; our aim being to involve people of all ‘ages and stages’ in worship through song. The Lord delights in the praises of His people and our desire is to please Him!

We welcome those who feel God is calling them into a music ministry within the Church, both singers and musicians. For more information on worship team practices, please contact our church office.

“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing.” – Psalm 100

“Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” – Colossians 1: 28

Sermons at Christ’s Church are in the form of Biblical exposition, for we believe that God’s voice is truly heard when the Scripture is properly taught. Sermon Series follow the outline of a particular book of the Bible, either from the Old or the New Testament. The contents of each book are considered in a series of consecutive sermons, systematically teaching and applying the Biblical message. This allows the congregation to engage with Scripture in an accumulative way as each week’s address builds upon the previous ones. Growth Group curriculum is framed around the current Series to allow parishioners to study the passage being preached.

“The worship of God is always a response to the Word of God.” – John Stott

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God”. – Philippians 4: 6

One form of prayer is intercession—seeking God on behalf of someone else. At Christ’s Church we believe that this kind of prayer is one of the best gifts God has given us to show our love and support for one another. We have a dedicated Prayer Chain who faithfully pray (in confidence) for the pastoral needs of our congregation. We also have a pre-service prayer time located in the Senior’s Room off the Main hall. Weekly prayer teams meet in different areas.

Pre-Service Prayer

Pastoral Care
One of the best ways to care for each other through praying is in a Growth Group. Specific prayer for individuals’ needs occurs in all the Growth Group meetings. Click here for a Growth Group closest to you.
